John Lynn Wilson was born in Ontario, Canada on October 8, 1934 and was raised by foster parents. John immigrated to the United States in the early 1960's where he worked on ranches in Colorado and Nebraska. After 12 years of working at the Joy Ranch he moved into Lakeside, Nebraska in 1973 and took up beekeeping full time.

On December 21, 1963 he married Karen Kay Hoon. To this union 2 children were born. On November 18, at age 89, he passed away at Box Butte General Hospital in Alliance, Nebraska.

He is survived by his wife, his children, Lynette Wilson of Texas and John Wilson Jr. of Alliance. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kayla Brown of Texas, Joshua Keckler of Maryland, Cheyenne Wilson of Omaha and his 3 great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Ryker Brown and Rippley Heittmatter and his sister Nina Harris of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his brother Clifford and Sister Dorothy.

A graveside memorial service at the Lakeside Cemetery was held June 28, 2024. Memorials may be mailed in care of the family to P.O. Box 2, Lakeside, NE 69351.
