Calvin Judson Lewis 1924 - 1977

Calvin J Lewis was born December 15, 1977 to John E. and Mary E. Lewis in Orleans Parish, LA
Lewis Marker He died instantly in Moline, IL after suffering a heart attack while at work on December 15, 1977.
Calvin was a veteran of WWII having seen combat in the United States Navy.
He married Laura Nell Boysen February 14, 1944 in Minden, NE, The newly weds took up housekeeping in Calvin's hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana. During the war Calvin had contracted malaria and a recurring bout soon convinced them that the climate was not suited for the young married couple. In the fall of 1944 they moved to Nebraska where he farmed with his father-in-law, Anton Boysen, between Kearney and Minden.
They later moved to Coal Valley, IL where he was employed as a sheet metal worker and later as a security guard at the J I Case plant in Moline, IL.
In addition to his widow he was survived by five daughters, Mary, Donna, Kathy, and Jo Ann; a sister, a brother, two half sisters, and five grandchildren.
