George DeBorde 1896 - 1914

George DeBorde was born in 1896 to William Jesse and Clara Agnes (Shelton) DeBorde in Iowa.
DeBorde Marker George was a single man employed by J. Adams on a ranch 6 miles south of Lakeside. His parents lived about 20 miles north of Ellsworth. He was killed by a lightning strike that traveled several miles down a barb wire fence into a neighborhood where inhabitants were enjoying a sunshiny afternoon. George was passing through a gateway and was accompanied by Mr. Adams' two girls when the accident occured. He was knocked to the ground, rose nearly to his feet again and then dropped over dead.
Funeral Services were held in Lakeside, NE. Burial was in the Lakeside Cemetery.
