Charles Marcord Carey 1874 - 1922

Charles Marcord Carey was born July 7, 1985 to James and Mary (Wallace) Carey in Cowerson, MI.
Carey Marker He married Annetta Jane Wallace December 25, 1909 in Raleigh, Kent Co., Canada.
They moved to Lakeside, NE in the spring of 1910 and homesteaded on a ranch 5 miles south-east of Lakeside. In addition to the homestead he was a well driller. Mr Carey passed away at the Pawlet ranch south of Lakeside. He had been suffering from heart and kidney trouble for about a year and for a few weeks previous to his death he had been unable to work having caught his right foot in his drilling machine, suffering a badly crushed foot. He had gone to the Pawlet ranch to supervise work being done there by his crew.
Funeral Services were held at the Methodist Church in Lakeside, NE. Burial was in the Lakeside Cemetery.
Survivors included his widow and one brother, Seth Carey of Mullen, NE. Two children and eight brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
