Ellsworth Ash was born May 6, 1885 to Jason and Mary (Deacon) Ash in Green County, IA.

Mr. Ash came to the Lakeside area with his parents in 1898. He was the last member of the pioneer family. He homesteaded in the area in 1910 and in 1937 moved to Iowa for 10 years. After returning to Lakeside he lived with his sister, Mrs. Mary Leishman. He was never married.

He passed away at the home of his niece, Mrs. Kenneth Gaunt in Breckenridge, MO.

Survivors included his niece, Mrs. Kenneth Gaunt, and four nephews; Willard Leishman, Delmer L. Leishman, Cecil L. Leishman and Robert.

Funeral Services were held at the Lakeside Methodist Church. Burial was in the Lakeside Cemetery.
