Commissioners Proceedings Statement - Tuesday, December 17, 2024
The Sheridan County, Nebraska, Board of Equalization (BOE) and Board of Commissioners (BOC) met on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the County Courthouse in Rushville. Notice of the meeting was published on the County website sheridancounty.ne.gov. The meeting was open to the public and a ZOOM connection was also available. Present were Chairman James Krotz, Commissioners Dan Kling and Bruce Messersmith, County Clerk Sindy Coburn, and Treasurer Renee Thies. 

There was no business for the Board of Equalization. The Board audited and approved claims for payment totaling $163,301.

Interim Road Superintendent Rod Norton reported that the request for bids on a new motor-grader has been published and the date for opening the bids will be January 14.

Building and Grounds Superintendent Jeff Davis reported that he has begun work on the new office partitions in the Extension building.

The Board voted to correct the November 26, 2024, miscalculation of the hourly wage of the Weed Superintendent beginning in February 2025 from 27.50/hour to 26.20/hour as based on the budget figure of $54,500 and 2080 work-hours in the year.

The next meeting of the BOE/BOC is scheduled for Tuesday, January 14 at 9:00 a.m. The minutes of this and all meetings of the Board of Commissioners will be available to the public at the office of the Sheridan County Clerk and now are available online at sheridancounty.ne.gov. All meetings of the Board of Commissioners are held in compliance with the Nebraska Open Meetings Act and the public is always welcome.
