Any errors or discrepancies are those of the writer. The Sheridan County Board of Equalization met in regular session and by Zoom (ID#93997918251 Passcode# 625274) at 9 A.M. on May 9, 2023. All members present along with County Clerk Sindy Coburn, Assessor Tina Skinner, Treasurer Renee Thies and Highway Superintendent Richard Cross. Messersmith stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act. This meeting was posted on the official website and published in the Sheridan County Journal Star on May 3, 2023. Krotz made a motion to accept the agenda. Kling seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye. Kling made a motion to approve the minutes of 4-25-2023. Messersmith seconded the motion. With a roll call vote Kling and Messersmith voted aye and Krotz abstained. Assessor Tina Skinner presented the board with two corrected Homestead Exemptions. The State has completed their review of the 2020 Homestead Exemptions and have determined two changes. Kling made a motion to accept the recommended changes on David Browder property changing the exemption from a 70% to a 100% exemption. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye. Kling made a motion to accept the recommended changes to LeRoy Watson property changing the exemption from 90% to 60% exemption. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye. Skinner visited with the board about the payment to Stanard Appraisal for the commercial reappraisal. It was determined to make 2 payments 50% in the 2022-2023 fiscal year and the other 50% in the 2023-2024 fiscal year. No public comment. Adjourn: 9:17 A.M. Attest: Sindy L.
