Commissioners Proceedings Statement - Tuesday, October 18, 2022
The Sheridan County Board of Commissioners (BOC) met on Tuesday October 18, 2022, at the County Courthouse. Notice of the meeting was published on the county website sheridancounty.ne.gov. The meeting was open to the public and a ZOOM connection was also available. Present were Chairman Bruce Messersmith, Commissioner James Krotz, Clerk Sindy Coburn and Treasurer Renee Thiess. Commissioner Dan Kling was excused. 

Acting as the Board of Equalization (BOE) the Commissioners reviewed and approved the minutes of the October 11 meeting. 

The Board of Commissioners (BOC) audited and approved salary claims for payment and signed claim checks. 

Road Superintendent Richard Cross presented a traffic study prepared by Baker and Associates on the intersection of 540 Road and 470th Lane which recommends the placement of stop sign at the southwest corner of the intersection. The BOC voted to approve Resolution 2022-21 directing the placement of the stop sign. 

The Clerk, Treasurer and BOC discussed the possibility of leasing a postage meter for the courthouse. No action was taken. 

Extension Educator Jack Arterburn made his periodic report on the many beef production and range improvement education events being offered by the Extension Service. 

The next meeting of the Board is scheduled for Tuesday, October 25. The minutes of this and all meetings of the Board of Commissioners will be available to the public at the office of the Sheridan County Clerk and now are available online at sheridancounty.ne.gov. All meetings of the Board of Commissioners are held in compliance with Nebraska Open Meetings Act and the public is always welcome.
