Commissioners Minutes - Tuesday, October 19, 2021

The Sheridan County Commissioners met in regular session and by zoom at 9:05 A.M. on October 19, 2021. Zoom ID#3358213334 Passcode 625274. Krotz and Messersmith present. Paul was excused. Messersmith stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act. This meeting was posted on the official website and published in the Sheridan County Journal Star on October 13, 2021. 

Messersmith made a motion to accept the agenda. Krotz seconded the motion. All voted aye. 

Krotz made a motion to approve the minutes of 10-12-2021. Messersmith seconded the motion. All voted aye. 

Krotz made a motion to go into executive session to discuss personnel at 9:07 A.M. Messersmith seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye. Messersmith made a motion to come out of executive session at 9:15 A.M. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye. No decision made. 

The board signed claim checks and audited and approved salary claims. 

The board reviewed an Opioid Litigation Settlement Agreement. No action taken. The board requested the Clerk to send on to County Attorney for review. 

Road Superintendent Richard Cross reported that he is short employees in the Hay Springs shop due to COVID. Cross also informed the board that his department will finish today on all the C81 projects that they had planned. 

Building Maintenance Supervisor Jeff Davis informed the board that the Hay Springs Road Shop had damage due to high winds. He has ordered metal and plans to get it on immediately. Davis reported that the windows are in on the Extension Building and he will try to get the trim all painted prior to the open house. Davis stated that he is working on the floor in the dispatch area. He has torn the carpet out and they are buffing the floor and plan to leave it that way. 

Sheriff was not available for an update.
