Commissioners Proceedings Statement - Tuesday, January 28, 2020
Present were Chairman Loren Paul, Commissioners Bruce Messersmith and James Krotz, and Clerk Sindy Coburn.

Acting as the Board of Equalization (BOE) the Commissioners reviewed with Assessor Tina Skinner the list of Permissive Exemption requests received by her office. These exemption are for properties used for agricultural and horticultural societies, educational, religious, charitable or cemetery purposes.
The BOE requested additional information on several of the requests and no action was taken at this time.

Road Superintendent Tom Kuester reported that he has contracted with Bosselmans for the delivery of 40,000 gallons of fuel at $2.06/gallon. This is down nine cents per gallon from the last contract in 2019. Kuester also reported that the cost of red-rock is going to increase significantly this year. The larger part of the cost will continue to be the cost of transporting the rock from South Dakota to Sheridan County.

The Commissioners and Assessor Skinner conferred by telephone with Janell Heuton of gWorks about her data integrity analysis of property descriptions contained in two databases used by the Assessor. Heuton offered several examples of data discrepancies such as different land use descriptions for the same parcel and proposed that gWorks assist in correcting the discrepancies. For a price of course. The Board and the Assessor have taken the matter under consideration.

The next scheduled meeting of the Commissioners will be Tuesday, February 11 at 9:00 a.m.
