Business Buzz - Paulette Shook
Today is March 20, 2008—the first day of Spring. I am ready for Spring. Spring reminds me of new beginnings and new life. Plants are starting to poke their heads above the ground to reach the light and the warmth of the sun. I think this time of the year we all look forward to warmer weather and fresh air. It renews our spirit and encourages us. Sometimes it is hard to come to work on these nice days when we would rather be home working in the yard or sitting on the patio drinking coffee or tea. But, we love and need our jobs, and are thankful that we have one, so we come in. Everyone is still working hard to make this facility the best around and make it look more homey and comfortable. We are always open for suggestions if you have any.
It is business as usual in the front office, we still have stamps for sale should any of you need any. We will send faxes for you, make copies if needed, and are there to answer questions that anyone might have and help in any way we can. Stop in and just say “Hi” or have a short conversation with either Kathy or myself. Have a nice Spring—when it is over we will move on to something better—Summer!

Hospitality Room
As a service to families who travel here to visit their elder, a room at Parkview Heights has been furnished for family use. This has been made possible by a donation from the Colson Family and others. The room has a double bed, chairs, coffee pot, toaster, microwave, cook top, and small refrigerator. We welcome anyone to use this room. There is no formal charge, however a donation is always appreciated. Meals can also be arranged, and again a donation is appreciated. It is requested that you reserve the room in advance by calling 308-882-5333 and ask for Brenda Cahow. If she is not available just leave your name and phone number for her to return your call.
On Valentine’s Day we had lots of activity around the facility. In the morning we had the Rainbow Promise Preschool kids come and make Valentine’s with the residents.
That afternoon, the Chase County Stompers came and square danced and entertained for us. Our very own Iona Kurth was one of the dancers.
Daloris Cross and Anna Oldaker were a couple of lucky ladies that received flowers from loved ones on that special day.
